ADAPT4 ISSUED PATENT FOR WHITE SPACE RADIO (WSR) TECHNOLOGY

MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 25, 2008)

Florida-based Adapt4, the world´s leader in commercial cognitive and white space radio technology, has been issued a patent by the U.S. Patent Office for its Spectral Reuse Transceiver (SRT) utilizing Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) technology.

The SRT works by successfully tapping into unused radio spectrum to provide communication channels for a variety of uses. The radios continuously scan the radio frequency spectrum for licensed idle space. Once an unused frequency is found, it begins transmitting on that frequency until it is once again occupied by its licensed owner. The radio seamlessly switches transmission to another open frequency without disruption or interference.

Adapt4´s SRT technology provides the missing ingredient for TV White Space (TVWS) devices to effectively scan, detect and avoid active TV Broadcast channels. When coupled with....more.

ADAPT4 "TUNES IN" TO SUCCESS AT THE TRDA BUSINESS INNOVATION CENTER

MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 21, 2008)

The availability of the radio spectrum in the United States is rapidly declining. Individuals, corporations and municipalities license channels that actively transmit only a small fraction of the time, resulting in an inefficient use of the available spectrum. That is until Adapt4 entered the picture.

The first tenant in the TRDA Business Innovation Center, Adapt4 is the world's leader in commercial cognitive radio technology. It is also the most recent success story to emerge from the Melbourne, Fla.-based incubator.

"It is difficult to find radio solutions that provide enough bandwidth for growing data applications," said Bob Lawless, president and chief executive officer of Adapt4....more.

ADAPT4 SELECTED FOR NTIA SPECTRUM SHARING INNOVATION TEST-BED

MELBOURNE, Fla. (June 9, 2008)

The US Dept. of Commerce's National Telecommuniations and Information Administration (NTIA) informed Adapt4 that it had been selected "to participate in the Spectrum Sharing Innovation Test-Bed (Test-Bed). This pilot program is one of the key elements of President Bush's 21st Century Spectrum Policy Initiative and is an exciting opportunity for the Federal government to work cooperatively with industry, researchers, and academia to objectively evaluate new technologies that can improve management of the nation's airwaves.

"As described in the Noticed published by NTIA in the Federal Register on February 5, 2008, the Test-Bed pilot program will evaluate the ability of Dynamic Spectrum Access devices employing spectrum sensing and/or geolocation techniques to share spectrum with land mobile radio systems in the 410-420 MHz band....more.
