Adapt4's new XG1™ adaptive radio is an opportunistic, software-defined radio (SDR). By employing a stealth-like cognitive technology known as ASAP (Automatic Spectral Adaptation Protocol), it automatically detects signals from other radios and avoids them, utilizing available channels only when they are not in use. No Frequency Coordination - ASAP technology works around other spectrum users to operate in the presence of existing infrastructure (including existing military radios), always seeking usable bandwidth and disappearing at the instant another user transmits. This non-interfering overlay provides reliable communications anywhere, without the need for advanced frequency coordination.
Minimal Infrastructure Needed - ASAP technology operates in the robust frequency spectrum below 1 GHz. This provides communications quality that is vastly superior to high frequency systems and does not require tall, expensive and highly visible antennas. Excellent propagation can be achieved with a minimum number of low height antennas.
Stealthy Operations - The Adapt4 network creates a set of sub-carriers and rapidly frequency-hops among them, spending brief periods (typically 10 mS) on each narrow band channel. The result is near invisible, encryption-ready communications, resistant to jamming or hacking attempts.
High Throughput Rates - ASAP can utilize up to 45, 6.25 kHz channels simultaneously, producing excellent, adjustable throughput rates of 1200 baud to nearly 200 Kb/s. Data rates are suitable for transmitting data, VoIP or framed video.
