Public Safety

Adapt4's XG1™'s stealthy, technological advances reduce the vulnerability of wireless communications in Public Safety.

ASAP (Automatic Spectral Adaptation Protocol) technology identifies unused frequencies, earmarks them for use by the network and then immediately avoids those channels when other activity is detected. The system rapidly hops, using up to 45 narrow band frequencies at one time, resulting in steady, high-throughput, hack and interference-resistant communications.

  • Office-In-The-Vehicle - The XG1 connects to a portable computer like a modem, providing a simple and reliable Internet connection. VPN (virtual private network) capabilities provide secure communications. High throughput rates allow for real-time frame video transmitting, giving base station officers a live eye on the scene.
  • Wide Area Coverage with Minimal Infrastructure Expense - The XG1 network offers extraordinary coverage without the high infrastructure expense normally associated with wide-area coverages. The lower band frequencies used by these radios are vastly superior in signal range, stability and reliability, even though they do not require the tall (and expensive) line-of-sight antenna systems associated with higher frequency bands. Rapid hand-off prevents loss of data when passing between coverage areas.
  • Integrated Applications - Adapt4's radios are designed so that the same transceiver can be used for voice, data or video. Even the base station radio is identical to the remote transceivers, minimizing the need to purchase and store spare radios. The XG1 provides interference-free communications and time-lapse video anywhere.
  • Weather Immunity - Unlike higher band radios, the spectrum below 1 GHz is nearly immune to adverse weather conditions. Even while their antenna systems can remain under the tree canopy, their superior transmit characteristics result in reliable communications in spite of atmospheric conditions, buildings, changing foliage and rough terrain. In those instances when dependable communications are most critical, network owners can depend on the XG1.
  • Licensed Protection - Adapt4's radios avoid the uncertain landscape of unlicensed, spread radios. Using a simplified licensing process, the networks are fully FCC-licensed on a secondary user basis. This makes the XG1 ideal for "drop and insert" applications.

This Cognitive and adaptive radio technology uses dynamic frequency selection and avoidance to transmit on other licensed, primary channels when they are not in use, providing a reliable, wireless connection within licensed frequency bands. Simplified licensing processes allow for quick "drop and insert" applications.
