The XG1™ radio network offers excellent performance characteristics ideally suited for mobile data purposes. Some of the benefits include wide area coverage with simplified installation and implementation, rapid hand-off between coverage areas, exceptional propagation, superior radio throughput rates and Ethernet transparency for direct laptop interface.

  • Office-In-The-Vehicle - The XG1 connects to a portable computer like a modem, providing a simple and reliable Internet connection. The XG1 offers an Ethernet and two serial interfaces and is compatible with most networking products.
  • VPN support - VPN (virtual private network) capabilities provide secure communications.
  • High throughput - High throughput rates allow for real-time frame video transmitting, giving dispatch operators a live eye on the scene.
  • Wide Area Coverage with Minimal Infrastructure Expense - The XG1 network offers extraordinary coverage without the high infrastructure expense normally associated with wide-area coverage at higher frequencies. The lower band frequencies used by these radios are vastly superior in signal range, and reliability, even though they do not require the line-of-sight antenna heights associated with higher frequency bands. Rapid hand-off prevents loss of data when passing between coverage areas.
  • Superior communications characteristics - Using ASAP (Automatic Spectral Adaptation Protocol) technology, Adapt4 has reintroduced the availability of lower frequency bands that have long been inefficiently used. Currently operating in the 217 - 220 MHz bandwidth, the XG1 takes advantage of the vastly superior RF characteristics of the spectrum below 1 GHz. Unlike higher bands, XG1 radios produce robust links that are nearly immune to changing atmospheric conditions, urban skylines, heavy foliage, rough terrain and other conditions that can diminish the effectiveness of higher frequency transceivers.
