The XG2Plus™ Adaptive White Space IP Radio operates as either a base station or a remote station. This lowers the stocking cost of spares since the radios are interchangeable. The radio, operating in either mode, provides wireless Ethernet connectivity. Transparent transfer of serial data is also supported. The XG2Plus™ cognitive radio includes Adapt4's patent pending cognitive capabilities allowing it to use licensed frequencies on a non-interfering basis.
The XG2Plus uses the advanced signal processing techniques developed for use in our XG1 Cognitive Radios to detect non-XG2Plus radio users. When the XG2Plus network detects the presence of another licensed or unlicensed user, the base radio will direct the network to retune to an interference-free channel within the pre-programmed table of licensed XG2Plus frequencies. The remote sites will automatically search for the new channel, acquire, and resume transmissions.
The network operator can create a list of up to 10 alternate interference free channels for secondary use licensing. In this way the XG2Plus radio gives operators the security of a licensed radio solution without the need to lease or purchase spectrum..
